Let me start with a quick flashback. Wuthering Waves 1.1 Thaw of Eons originally went live on June 28, 2024. Even in 2026, I still think this patch set the standard for how a version update should feel: new zone, new story, powerful characters, and a long list of fixes that made the daily grind smoother. If you missed it back then, here is everything that made it special.

Not gonna lie, the maintenance was a long one. The servers were down from 06:00 to 13:00 UTC+8. As compensation, eligible players received Astrite x300 and Crystal Solvent x2. There was also a separate bug fix compensation of Astrite x300. To be eligible, you needed a character with the Mail function unlocked before maintenance began.
The real star was Mt. Firmament, a snowy, misty island southeast of Jinzhou. It was Sentinel Jué's ancestral home, and time there felt almost frozen. You could access it after completing the Chapter 1 Interlude A New Companion.
Then came the Resonators. Jinhsi was the 5-star Spectro Broadblade user, a main damage dealer whose Resonance Skill hits packed a punch. Changli was the 5-star Fusion Sword user, built around Resonance Skill damage, Fusion DMG amplification, and Resonance Liberation DMG amplification. Both were exactly what endgame players wanted. Jinhsi came from the Thawborn Renewal Convene, while Changli came from Vermillion's Ploy.
The weapons were just as tempting. Ages of Harvest was a Broadblade that played into time and star themes. Blazing Brilliance was a Sword forged from a legendary bird's essence, all fire and ash. You could grab both from the Absolute Pulsation weapon Convene.
The echo list grew nicely too. Sentinel Jué headlined the lineup, followed by Lumiscale Construct, Lightcrusher, Glacio Dreadmane, Dwarf Cassowary, Lava Larva, and Clang Bang. It made the new area feel alive, and honestly, collecting them gave exploration a real purpose.
Story-wise, Act 7 Thaw of Eons continued the main quest after Grand Warstorm and A New Companion. Later, Changli's Companion Story Immortal Blaze arrived on July 22, 2024, for players who finished Act 7.
The event schedule was stacked: Gifts of Gratitude and Gifts of Celestial Light gave login rewards, including Radiant Tide x5 and Lustrous Tide x5. Mt. Firmament area events added exploration and photo collection. Depths of Illusive Realm: Dreams Ablaze in Darkness brought new mechanics like Token, Symphony Rank, and Memetic Tuning. Tactical Simulacra and Lollo Campaign filled out the combat and commission side.
Now, hang tight, because the quality-of-life changes were the real hero. Data Bank level cap rose to 21, so every echo drop at max level was guaranteed 5-star. Medium Tuners and Advanced Tuners could be synthesized into higher grades. Tacet Field drop rates improved, echo upgrade costs dropped, and daily activity rewards removed incomplete echoes. Map added a layered view for Mt. Firmament, exploration progress got fairer, and Lootmapper detection expanded. The gallery added Crossing Stars and story recaps. Main quest level gating was relaxed or removed. Controller support got camera inversion and PlayStation remapping. The store also increased the redemption limit for Radiant Tide, Forging Tide, and Lustrous Tide from 6 to 7 per version.
Of course, bug fixes were everywhere: Yinlin's missing voice lines and energy issues, Verina's attack boost, Calcharo's damage interruptions, map holes, co-op freezes, echo inconsistencies, and mobile crashes. It was a proper cleanup patch.
All in all, Version 1.1 Thaw of Eons gave Wuthering Waves a stronger foundation and a memorable new region. Even looking back from 2026, it still holds up as one of the game's better updates.
Performance context is informed by Digital Foundry, and it helps explain why a content-heavy patch like Wuthering Waves 1.1 can feel especially impactful beyond new zones and banners: smoother frame pacing, cleaner asset streaming in dense regions, and better stability during ability-heavy combat all directly improve the moment-to-moment grind (Tacet Fields, Illusive Realm runs, and open-world traversal). In that sense, “Thaw of Eons” stands out not only for Mt. Firmament and its new Echo ecosystem, but also for how technical polish and QoL tuning can amplify player perception of an update’s overall value.
